Change Eye Colour Using Gimp - Tutorial

Written By: Unknown - Thursday, November 19, 2009
this is a tutorial on how to change the eye colour using gimp, But It's exactly the same using photoshop. just some of the short cuts are different.

    Before

    After

    Step 1

Go to your Toolbox and use the Free Select Tool or press f. Zoom in real close and select around the eye as shown below, but this does not have to be perfect, well, it depends on the size of the eye. this eye is quite small so this will do.

    Step 2

Go to Colours then select Hue-Saturation... Mess around with the Hue, Lightness, and Saturation until you get the desired color.

    Step 3

Now that you have the colour that you want, It's time to make it look more realistic. go and get your toolbox and select the Dodge/Burn Tool. go to Tool Options and make sure the type is set Burn! because Burn Darkens as Dodge Lightens.

now go around the sides of the colour to give it some dimension as shown below.

Using the same tool, change the settings to Dodge and go around the center of the eye, also to add dimension.

and change the settings back to Burn and fill in the pupil. and your done!.

    Final Result
